We are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new service that we have been working on exclusively for you and all our diplomatic clients:
Online VAT-free shopping at MediaMarkt.
MediaMarkt is Europe’s leading retailer for consumer electronics and household appliances. Buy all your electronic devices from your next laptop, TV, to the newest iPhone, or any other electronic appliances - online, VAT-free, through the MediaMarkt online webshop.
In close collaboration with MediaMarkt, a dedicated online webshop platform has been developed specifically and only for our Diplomatic Card members, where you can now purchase your electronics online directly VAT-free.
You can expect further upgrades in the coming months regarding your online portal, faster VAT refunds, exclusive discounts and many more.
How does it work?
To purchase VAT-free at the online webshop of MediaMarkt, simply log in to your online account at https://clientportal.diplomaticcard.be. On your account home page, you will see the MediaMarkt button. Clicking this button will give you access to the exclusive MediaMarkt webshop, developed only for our diplomatic clients. You can only go to the MediaMarkt VAT-free webshop when you first login to your online account.
Please note: Only diplomats with an active Diplomatic Card can access the MediaMarkt VAT-free webshop. This is a secure and protected system, built to guarantee that access is strictly limited to eligible diplomats and fully in line with the Belgian legislation.
If you are a private diplomat and you don’t see the button on your online account, please contact our support desk to activate your Diplomatic Card.

We are proud to say that we are the first and only provider worldwide to offer a true online VAT-free service for the diplomatic community.
This first launch is for Private Use diplomats. Next month, we will also launch the service for Official Use purchases for embassies and missions, stay tuned.
Please note: At this stage, the VAT-free service for MediaMarkt is only available online, as the in-store checkout systems of MediaMarkt are still decentralised and would require a significant technical upgrade on their part to support VAT-free transactions. That’s why we have launched this new online VAT-free service through the dedicated online platform — where the experience is faster, simpler, and fully compliant with the VAT exemption regulations.We are excited to bring you this new VAT-free service and look forward to your first online VAT-free purchases at MediaMarkt.
